The
Job
|
Our
Carers work in the community assisting elderly and vulnerable
people to maintain an independent life-style in their own
homes. Duties include:
 |
Personal
Care - Assistance with bathing,
toiletting, dressing and medication. |
|
Emotional
Support - To provide companionship,
promotion of well-being and
self-confidence. |
|
Domestic
Duties - Assistance with light household
cleaning, laundry, shopping and other general tasks |
|
Hours
| Flexible,
including evening and weekend work. |
Experience
|
Preferred
but not essential as comprehensive training is provided. |
Requirements
|
In
order to work as a Carer in the community you must:
|
Possess
sympathetic and caring qualities |
|
Be
reliable, honest and trustworthy |
|
Have
transport and a telephone |
|
Be
prepared to undergo a vetting procedure (Enhanced Criminal
Records Bureau Disclosure) |
|
Be
prepared to work some evenings and weekends |
|
Obtain
good references |
|
Be
physically suited |
|
Complete
a mandatory Induction Course |
|
Successfully
complete a 3 month probationary period |
|
Possess
or be prepared to undertake at least an NVQ level 2 in
Care (or equivalent) |
|
Be
prepared to attend specialist training courses |
